All Inclusive Andalusia: A Review of Club Med Magna Marbella, Spain
With Club Med Magna Marbella being the sixth Club Med property that I’ve visited, it has only reaffirmed my belief in and love for their concept: which is that there is always something to do, and never anything to worry about. Regardless if the resort is in the Mediterranean, the Alps, or the Caribbean (all of the regions I have personally visited so far), or anywhere else in the world, Club Med offers an air and an energy that I’ve come to know as being welcomed amongst family.
Club Med Magna Marbella is the region’s newest property, and I was honored to be present for their opening event. While September felt like it was the absolute perfect time to visit, the climate in Andalusia is known to always be lovely and the resort is open year-round. This article describes what I love most about the all-inclusive property, including its location, amenities, accommodation options, and dining offerings.
The Location: Club Med Magna Marbella
What I find most notable about any property is its connectedness to its surroundings, both geographically and when it comes to the resort’s offerings. Club Med Magna Marbella is situated just a few minutes from Marbella’s Old Town, perched upon a hill to allow for stunning views of Andalusia’s famed red rooftops, the glittering Strait of Gibraltar, and beyond. A 20-minute walk from the entrance of Club Med Magna Marbella (or a 5-minute Uber or taxi ride) will lead you into the heart of Marbella, where you can take in views of its colorful, flower-lined streets, shop for souvenirs, or enjoy a leisurely stroll through one of its parks or plazas.
Arriving to the resort from the AGP Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is easy, and (40-minute) transfers can be arranged directly and conveniently through Club Med. The region of Andalusia has much to offer and is a prime destination for road trips exploring la Ruta de Pueblos Blancos— and if you choose to do so, you can opt to schedule day trips or excursions through the resort instead of having to rent and drive your own car. Though you may be interested in visiting the nearby beaches, golf courses, or attractions, it’s also tempting (and I couldn’t blame you!) to spend your entire stay at the resort— where you’ll find that there’s plenty to do if you prefer to be active, or plenty of ways to enjoy yourself if you’d rather to do nothing at all.
Accommodations at Club Med Magna Marbella
Guests of Club Med Magna Marbella can choose from their range of Superior, Deluxe, and Suite room categories, each with options for views or connecting accommodations for families. The resort was fully renovated ahead of their grand opening in the Fall of 2022, so all finishes are brand new and nicely appointed, and every space is comfortably luxurious and thoughtfully designed.
I stayed in a Sea-View Superior Room during my visit to Club Med Magna Marbella and was more than comfortable— with plenty of space to relax or take in the views overlooking the resort’s gardens and across the old town. The rooms on each floor of the resort extend from a central elevator lobby, making meeting up with friends or family easy and convenient as you head out to the next activity or meal.
Amenities and Facilities at Club Med Magna Marbella
Club Med Magna Marbella is a paradise for anyone coming to enjoy the best the region has to offer. From pristine clay or hard tennis courts and state-of-the-art padel courts, to a variety of on-site golf training facilities, to a full schedule of fitness classes offered alongside their well-equipped gym, those who are seeking an active holiday certainly have plenty of options.
For those who prefer a more relaxing stay, guests at Magna Marbella can choose to spend their time at any of the property’s three pools— a large lagoon swimming pool at the center of the resort, an adults-only Zen pool located atop a hill in a quiet area, and an indoor/outdoor swimming pool just beside the Spa by Cinq Mondes. A full menu of à la carte massage and facial treatments can be found at the resort’s spa, and guests also have the ability to customize a treatment plan to make the most of their experience. Guests receiving treatments also have full access to the spa’s facilities which include the relaxation room, hammam, and sauna.
Club Med’s app is a great resource during your stay at Magna Marbella (or any of their properties), and can be used for reviewing and signing up for any scheduled activities or included group lessons, or reserving treatments in the resort’s spa.
Dining at Club Med Magna Marbella
In my previous stays at Club Med properties I had always found the dining experience to be a highlight, and Magna Marbella somehow managed to exceed my high expectations. Though the Spanish influence is clear in many of their menu and buffet offerings in both their Tierra and Suenos restaurants, the options are always diverse, delicious, and impressively plated or prepared right in front of you. There is certainly something for every palate, and dining in either of Magna Marbella’s beautifully designed restaurants is a carefree experience where friends, family, groups, or individuals can each enjoy their perfect meal.
Drinks are also included within Club Med’s concept, and their wine, cocktail, and spirit offering extends beyond their restaurants and into their three bars located beside the main and Zen pools and in the Gourmet Lounge. For those who miss a meal because they were busy between activities, were out on an excursion, or were catching up on sleep, any of the bars offer light snacks all day so guests will always have options, even outside of designated restaurant hours.
The easy-going and fun energy of Magna Marbella’s design, staff, and overall atmosphere beautifully reflects its bright and sunny surroundings, and I ended my stay with a new favorite resort of all the Club Med properties I’ve visited. I certainly look forward to returning someday, but until then I have the beautiful memories that I created during my visit to Club Med Magna Marbella.
