Carom App: Discover a Unique Community and Access Exclusive Events in Paris and Beyond

This week I had the opportunity to attend an unforgettable event, made possible by Carom App: an evening at Palais Garnier for the Paris Opera 2024 Ballet Season Opening Gala. I never imagined I would be able to attend such an exclusive and spectacular event, especially in a city where I’m still finding my bearings— but Carom App’s community and network does exactly that, for people just like me.

What is Carom App?

Events on Carom App are curated and also user-generated. It’s a great way to meet others with similar interests, expand your network, and discover new happenings in your city– whether you’ve just arrived or already consider yourself a local. The types of events can range from casual meet-ups for a tennis match, to lively dinners in bustling neighborhoods, to extravagant galas such as the event I just attended. There is certainly something for everyone, and if you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for you can host your own event and invite others from the community to join you.

The Paris Opera Ballet Season Opening Gala with Carom App

If someone told me when I was five years old and ballet-obessed that someday I would attend the Paris Opera’s Opening Gala of the 2024 Ballet Season at Palais Garnier, I don’t know if I would have believed it. To be able to attend such an event was truly a dream come true, and will forever be one of my most special memories I’ve made in Paris.

The event was actually my first time using Carom App, and the experience was flawless from beginning to end. Communication about where and when to meet was clear, and immediately upon meeting the other Carom App users I felt like I was with a group of familiar friends. Everyone was kind and friendly, and we all shared in the excitement of attending such an iconic event. As someone who has become so accustomed to traveling alone, and attending events alone, it really was lovely to join a group of individuals who share similar interests.

As for the event itself, I was immediately and continually impressed throughout the course of the whole evening. Everything from the elegant setting, the energy of the crowd, the fragrant and ethereal decor, and of course the dance performances were all truly exceptional and unforgettable. The sense of community provided by Carom App made the gala event all the more enjoyable, and it was special to meet others that were relatively new to Paris like me, had been established in Paris for several years, or had lived in Paris their whole lives. It was also lovely to catch up with my dear friend Anna Kloots, who first introduced me to Carom App!
