Travel Guide to Dubrovnik, Croatia: What to Do, Where to Eat, and Where to Stay
/I certainly can’t claim to be an expert on all-things-Dubrovnik, but having spent a considerable amount of time here (and currently living and working remotely from here), I’ve come up with a list of some of my favorite beaches, activities, restaurants, and hotels in the area if you’re visiting for the first time and are in need of some suggestions.
The Best Beaches in Dubrovnik, Croatia
Sveti Jakov (Walk or Uber)
Pasjača Beach (Uber or Car Rental (I had a great experience renting from Sixt at Rixos, note that you likely won’t have parking if you stay near the Old City, so opt for a daily rental))
Vrbica Beach (Uber or Car Rental)
Beaches accessible by boat or on a tour: Blue Cave, Don Divan, Šunj Beach
Recommended Activities in Dubrovnik, Croatia
Walk the City Walls (Go 30 minutes before closing for better temperatures, sunset views, and fewer crowds)
West Harbor (you will likely walk by this on your way to Lovrijenac Fortress or Danče Beach)
Buža Bar (Go for sunset drinks before dinner)
Recommended Restaurants in Dubrovnik, Croatia
Taj Mahal (Bosnian)
Lady Pipi (Traditional)
Prora at Hotel Excelsior (Seafood)
MOSKAR (Traditional)
Nishta (Vegan)
Mama’s Pot (Traditional)
Trattoria Carmen (Seafood)

Where to Stay in Dubrovnik, Croatia
Hotel Excelsior (Amazing hotel with iconic views, in the best location close to the Old City. You can read the full article about my stay here.)
Hotel Bellevue Dubrovnik (20 minutes outside of the Old City by foot)
Sun Gardens Dubrovnik (20 minutes outside of the Old City by car)
Airbnb (The best location would be close to, but outside, the city walls)
